When Elisha picks up that same mantle after Elijah is taken up, something remarkable happens. He strikes the water himself, and it parts again. The power was never in the mantle itself. It lived in the God who had called Elijah, and who was now calling Elisha to carry that same authority forward in his own way, with his own voice.

There is something beautiful about having women who just get it. Women you can call when you need prayer, women who will celebrate your good news without making it about themselves, women who will sit with you when life feels heavy and remind you that you are not carrying it alone.

You do not seek and provide for yourself. You seek and God adds. The two activities operate on entirely different tracks. Your movement is toward the Kingdom. Provision becomes the overflow, not the object of your pursuit. This is the inversion Jesus is after. The crowds were anxious about food, clothing, and the future.

One of the most profound descriptions of Scripture appears in the Epistle to the Hebrews 4:12. "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." This verse reveals something essential about the nature of God's word. Scripture is not merely a historical document, a collection of religious writings, or a record of ancient wisdom.

Scripture introduces her in a single sentence, yet that sentence carries weight of twelve years of suffering. The bible tells us she had been bleeding for twelve years. This was not simply a medical problem. In the Jewish law of that time, continual bleeding placed a person in a state of ceremonial uncleanness according to the book of Leviticus. That meant she was not only physically weak but also socially and spiritually isolated.

One of the obvious testimonies of the Holy Spirit is a changed life. When someone is being made new - loving what they once hated, turning from sin, growing in holiness - that is the Spirit saying to the world: Jesus is alive. Jesus saves. Jesus reigns.

There is a moment in every woman's life where she stands in the middle of what used to be and wonders if anything good can come from this. The ruins may look different - a broken marriage, a lost career, a prodigal child, a season of illness, a betrayal that redrew the map of her life. But the feeling is the same: this is too far gone.
